Blizzard Entertainment has a unique way of keeping its fans excited over long periods of time, even if it usually takes the studio a couple of long years before they release something. 'When it's done' is their go-to phrase when asked about any new developments regarding a game, and StarCraft II was kept secret for quite a while, as was Diablo III. On the other hand, they rarely disappoint, so it's only natural that the fans stay positive and patient whenever Blizzard is working on something.
The Protoss under the spotlight once again
StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void is the third installment in the StarCraft II saga, and it focuses on the most mysterious and ancient race that's part of the game's universe: Protoss. Other than the mandatory new campaign, this episode also changes an awful lot when it comes to the multiplayer component, although the core gameplay is the same in most regards. Whether these changes are going to stick around until the game is officially released, only time can say.
Cpu game download. To begin with, the Closed Beta version does not spoil anything regarding the story, but you can find out some details about it from the press release, which sheds a bit of light on the matter. As such, you play the role of Hierarch Artanis, the leader of the Protoss race. The goal is to reclaim your homeworld from the vicious Zerg, but that is a pretty big task to undertake, as Heart of the Swarm proved a few years ago.
New units to take advantage of in multiplayer matches
The multiplayer changes may not seem like much to a regular Joe, but every little detail counts for hardcore players. As such, small things like the addition of a few extra workers at the beginning of a match has the potential to change the entire pace of the game. Now, you can gather resources a lot faster in the beginning, which makes for vicious rush attacks that are basically impossible to block without proper scouting.
New units are part of the deal as well, two for each race. The Protoss get the Adept and the Disruptor, Terrans get the Cyclone and the Liberator, and the Zergs receive the Ravager and the Lurker. In case you are intimate with the first StarCraft game, then you know that the Lurker is one of the most famous Zerg units out there, and it should be interesting to see it at work again in the hands of professional players.
Automated tournaments make a comeback as well
Lastly, the automated ladder tournaments are back too, which is great news, considering the fact that they were always a lot of fun in WarCraft III. Hence, StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void should be a success with the fans of the series, although it must be noted that the pace has been increased quite a bit in multiplayer. Because of this, some might not be able to keep up with the ladder for too long without becoming frustrated with the game.
